February 2008Purchased and received the Radio Jove Kit from "The Radio Jove Project Inc.. Its a fully unassembled kit, which needs to be put together. Once set up it will be for 20.1 Mhz and will be used for Jupiter Storms, and Solar Activity.
Summer 2007Went to Mike Wearth's place in Perth, and picked up one solar mount from that used to be at the Algonguin Radio Observatory, in Algonquin Park. The mount is currently sitting in the back yard, approximetely aligned north. Hopefuly in the summer of 2008 a concrete base needs to be placed on the bedrock, and the mount attached, so the 10 ft wire mesh dish(which got wind damaged in the winter of 2007) will be placed on the mount. We have the panel box and schematics to hopefully get it up an running.
Summer 2004The donation of the 10 ft mesh (10ft) dish, has been moved, and will be used for transit work of the sun. We are also getting ready to assemble an all sky camera and a radio meteor detection application. This was a go until the car radio we had does not seem to work- a call to the auto wreckers is needed.
Summer 2003There is a donation of another mesh (10ft) dish, needs to be moved, this will probably be the one used, until the other dish can be reconstructed Summer 2002Tne dish is in the new location, in pieces awaiting the observtory building to go in Summer 2001The dish is in storage until a better location comes along Summer 2000took dish apart and purchased new stainless steel bolts/washers/nuts Summer 1999received 10 ft dish (3 metre) dish last summer (Summer of 1999) by the Hamilton Centre RA>C Fall 98Tried a dipole antenna to hook up to the fm radio for meteor detection, seemed to work early in the morning Nov 97Became a member of SARA, The Society of Amateur Radio Astronomers
